Fastening the pocket to the body

 

1. Lining up midpoints, stitch the top of the pocket zipper/gusset panel to the top of your zipper panel, lined up with your marked 2 ⅜” line on the front body panel (A1).

Stitch **Start and stop seam ½” from the edge**

 

 

 

 

2. Lining up midpoints, stitch pocket zipper/gusset panel to body zipper/gusset along the bottom, sandwiching the front body panel.

Stitch **Start and stop seam ½” from the edge**

 

 

 

3. Snip both layers of the zipper panels' seam allowance at both corners, avoiding the front body panel.

 

 

 

4. Unzip both zippers and turn the body inside out.

 

 

 

5. Lining up midpoints, stitch the front body panel to the body zipper/gusset along the top, right sides together.

Stitch **Start and stop seam ½” from the edge**

 

 

 

 

6. Snip zipper panel seam allowance and both corners, same way as before.

 

 

 

7. Stitch the side seams closed in the same way you did for sewing the body and the pocket, but this time making sure to catch the pocket zipper panel in the seam. Reinforce at the corners by stitching back and forth.
